Acknowledgements

There have been many people who were important to us while we were caring for Luckie during her illness and while we were developing Luckiekitty.com.

Jennifer McClellan, DVM – Luckie’s internist and the reassuring presence we needed as we first adjusted to the diagnosis and the treatment of CRF. You touched our life with your kindness and your constant willingness to explain all those details to us in a way we could understand. We knew that when Luckie didn’t even hiss at you much that you must be okay in her book too!

Mary Ann Sanfilippo, DVM – Initially, you were a face in the background, often filling in when Dr. McClellan was otherwise occupied. Over time, and as fate brought us back together at Derry Animal Hospital you became a trusted advisor. Having you there to help with Luckie’s passing meant more to us that you will ever know. We look forward to bringing TK, Yoshi and Lucie in to see you for their check-ups.

Jason McClellan, DVM – We were so glad to have you as a part of Luckie’s treatment team. Thank you for your willingness to jump into a complicated case with nearly a year of history to catch up with.

Kelly Wheeler – Thank you for being the bright bubbly person who never failed to lift our spirits. Even though Luckie wasn’t always fond of you, we always felt 100% comfortable knowing that she was in your care. And thank you for falling on your face the week after I fainted. It really helped to not be alone in my embarrassment.

Mary Wiley –We’ll never forget coming to pick Luckie up and you having swollen itchy eyes from cuddling with her. To be able to cuddle with Luckie while she was hospitalized means that you passed her ultimate test.

All the Veterinarians and Technicians Whose Names aren’t Mentioned Here – The care that Luckie received at the Emergency Veterinary Center of Manchester, at AVC and at Derry Animal Hospital was always top-notch (even though she didn’t always show her appreciation!) Thank you all!

Our Family and Friends – Thank you for being supportive of us – even when you thought we were crazy.

Our Employers – The flexibility we each had in our employment was wonderful. It’s not every boss who would be supportive when you have to leave work for an emergency trip to the vet.

Megan Dumm – Thanks for looking over the content and catching all my typos. It meant a lot that you were willing to take time out of your weekend to do that for me.
